UMUC Asia Commencement

This time of year, UMUC around the world rolls out the red carpet for those who have worked so hard achieving their dreams and completing their educational milestones. Come join us and your fellow graduates in celebrating your commencement.

Commencement Checklist

  • Have you satisfied your graduation requirements and applied for graduation through your MyUMUC portal?
  • Have you graduated in Summer 2014, Fall 2014 or expecting to graduate in Spring 2015?
    *Applies to students who applied for graduation by 15 February, Spring 2015 deadline.

If you answered yes to both, we have a place of honor waiting for you!

For BSU Teacher Education Students – Candidates from the education program should submit the BSU paper application for graduation. Do not apply through the MyUMUC portal. Please contact your BSU Advisor at learntoteach-asia@umuc.edu or DSN 645-2559 for details on the application process and preparations for the Okinawa Commencement Ceremony.

Follow these crucial steps below to ensure your commencement is a success!

Confirm your e-mail address now. All future commencement correspondence will be sent to you electronically. To ensure that you receive commencement updates, verify your e-mail address via MyUMUC by following these steps:

  1. Log on to the MyUMUC student portal.
  2. Click on "MyInfo" near the top left of the page. Then click on "Contact Information." A box will appear showing your contact information options, including your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.
  3. Click on "Email Address" to review your e-mail address listing.
  4. If the e-mail address shown is correct, click the save button at the bottom of the box and you are done.
  5. If the e-mail address shown is not correct, type in your correct address, then click the save button on the bottom of the box to complete your update.

*Please note that the e-mail dialog box gives you the option to list two e-mail addresses (e.g., home and business). If you do list two, please indicate your primary address.

With your e-mail up-to-date, watch out for e-mail messages about commencement mid-February. You will receive instructions on how to register.

UMUC's convenient online registration system makes it easy for you to fully enjoy your commencement experience.

The system allows you to:

  • Reserve your seat to celebrate
  • Purchase your awesome cap and gown!

Confirm Your Application

Remember that registering and attending the commencement ceremonies does not constitute an application for your diploma.

It also does not indicate that you have completed your graduation requirements.

If you have not done so already, you must:

  • Apply via MyUMUC
  • Submit your $50 diploma fee by February 15, 2015 and confirm you have completed your graduation requirements.
