Prof. Mayra Rangel holds an MA in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and a BA in psychology and Chicana/o studies from California State University, Northridge. 

RONALD ROMAN

Prof. Roman has taught extensively in colleges in the US and with the US military throughout the Pacific since the 70s. He joined UMUC full-time in January 1996 and retired as Associate Professor of English (2009) before returning as an Adjunct in January 2013. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Bridgeport (English Education), Fairfield University (TESOL), and Wesleyan University (Humanities/Literature with specialization in Interdisciplinary Writing). Mr. Roman has also acted extensively in commercial video productions, TV commercials/dramas and motion pictures, having starred as General John Church in the Korean War epic "71: Into the Fire." When on vacation, he likes restoring his classic 1968 AMC (Rambler) American antique auto.
JOSEPH RUHLAND

Prof. Ruhland holds a BS in Applied Science and Technology from Thomas Edison State University and a MS in Management of Technology from The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. He joined UMUC in 2017, is an Air Force Veteran, and has previously taught at Minnesota State Mankato University’s Aviation Department.

Dr. Hyoik (Peter) Ryu is an adjunct associate professor at UMUC Asia. He teaches courses in biology and business management, focusing on real-world applications. Dr. Ryu earned his B.S. from Seoul National University in Korea, a M.S. and Ph.D. from Iowa State University. He has worked with various academic, commercial and government institutions such as the University Of Arkansas Medical School, BioCarb Inc., Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in the United States, and Lotte Brewing Co., Daegu Catholic University, Yeungnam University and Keimyung University in Korea. He has also taught biological courses at Korean universities including Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Toxicology and Public Health. Dr. Ryu is currently located in Daegu, Korea and in his free times enjoys traveling and hiking.
