SARAH JACKSON

Dr. Sarah E. Jackson holds a BA in economics from Western Washington University, and an MS and PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After completing her PhD in 2006,she taught at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the US until accepting her first overseas position in 2012. From 2012 until 2015, she taught at The Petroleum Institute, a small engineering university in the UAE. She joined UMUC Asia in 2015 as a Traveling Collegiate Associate Professor were she has taught in mainland Japan and Okinawa.

Prof. Jenkins holds a MFA in drama from the University of Arizona, a MA in English from San Francisco State University and a BA in literature from American University, Washington D.C.

JIN-AH JEON

Prof. Jeon holds a B.S. in computer science from Dankook University in Seoul, Korea, and an M.S., also in computer science, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she took additional graduate work in computer science after completing her master's degree. At both Dankook University and the University of Nevada Las Vegas she gained teaching experience while serving as a teaching assistant. Ms. Jeon has been employed as a computer engineer and software developer. She joined the UMUC Asia faculty in Korea in August 2000 and has taught regularly since then, in the fields of computer and information science (CMIS) and Information Systems Management (IFSM), teaching at Osan Air Base, at Camp Humphreys, at Yongsan, at Kunsan AB, and Daegu (Cp Henry, Cp Carroll), as well as in the online learning program.
HYE-KYUNG JIN

Prof. Jin received her B.A. in Korean Education from Dongguk University and M.A. in Korean Language Education as a foreign language from Yonsei University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Korean Language Education from Yonsei University. She has worked as a language instructor at the National University of Modern Language (Islamabad) and Community Center for multi-cultural family (Pohang).
JAMES JOHNSON

Prof. Johnson earned a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from the University of Warwick in Coventry, England, an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama, an M.S. in international business from the University of South Carolina, and has studied toward a Ph.D. in management information systems at Auburn University. He has taught at Durham Technical Community College, Central Texas College, the University of South Carolina, Concordia International University in Brazil, Auburn University, and at Upper Iowa University. Mr. Johnson has had a range of other employment including experience in financial fields. He has several publications in the area of Global Information Systems. Since joining the Asian Division faculty in 1996 he has taught in Guam, Misawa, Korea, Iwakuni, and the Tokyo area, and in the online learning program.

Keith Johnston
KEITH JOHNSTON

Prof. Johnston, Collegiate Associate Professor of Music and Computer Studies, UMUC Asia, winner of a 2016 Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award. Johnston joined the UMUC faculty in 2002 and developed the music curriculum throughout Korea and online. Johnston has written compositions in a wide range of media and has performed throughout the United States and Asia. In addition to the Drazek Award, he has received awards from the University of Washington, Princeton University, and the New Jersey Council for the Arts, as well as the UNESCO Foundation Scholarship for the study of computer synthesis techniques at MIT.

Dr. Gloria J. Jones is a fifteen-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Naval Reserves and a former UMUC student. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology from Central Michigan University and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University before settling in Wichita, Kansas. For almost thirty years Dr. Jones had a clinical practice in Wichita, Kansas. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Jones was a consulting member of the behavioral health committee for several insurance companies and for the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Teaching to a military population for UMUC was a long-time goal for her. Dr. Jones’s professional interests include clinical applications in psychology and ethics.

SUSAN JONES

Dr. Susan M. Jones is well-versed in the collegiate field of business education. She attained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Masters Business Administration degree in Finance and in Information Systems, and completed her educational endeavors by earning a Doctorate in Business Administration. She plans to earn a Ph.D. in Higher Education in the future. Susan’s work experience involves many years of finance and accounting in industries such as retail, insurance, public accounting, and fitness, health, and wellness. She worked as a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst at an electronic debit and credit payment corporation. She oversaw the revenue payment accounts systems totaling more than $100 billion, helped to formulate monthly forecasts and budgets, and performed special projects for the Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Susan worked as an entrepreneur as an Independent Fitness Consultant. She acquired contracts with various corporations such as Aerobic Atlanta, Just Wellness, Coca-Cola, YMCA, Bellsouth (now AT&T), Home Depot, Cox Communications, Corporate Sports Unlimited (13 facilities in Atlanta) and other fitness facilities in the surrounding metro Atlanta areas. Susan worked overseas (Guam, Japan, and Korea) as a contractor for higher education; i.e. Chair Liaison for the Masters of Business Administration program. She had the opportunity to work with nationals, active duty and their dependents, as well as various contractors and other expatriates. During Susan’s time overseas, she volunteered her efforts to the Chapel, USO, Girl Scouts Overseas (i.e. board member), DoDEA middle and high school programs, and many other community-wide events in Asia/Pacific. She enjoys fitness (including running 5Ks, 10Ks, and half marathons and fitness competitions), salsa dancing, socializing, traveling, and reading and relaxing on leave days.
