Prof. Edwards earned her B.A. in Asian Studies from University of Maryland University College and her M.Ed. in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland, College Park, in the program offered in Okinawa and administered by UMUC. She has taught Japanese for UMUC at Iwakuni since 1999. Ms. Edwards is a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Council on Family Relations, and the Okinawa Psychology Association.
Patrick Engman
PATRICK ENGMAN

Prof. Patrick Engman holds a Master of Information Technology Systems from Touro University and a B.S. in criminal justice from Roger Williams University. He is the director of networking and computer systems at Naval Telecommunications Station, Guam. Prof. Engman holds 20 years of experience with the U.S. Air Force, as a communication plans manger and three years’ experience as a Florida state investigator. His career has spanned to the Headquarters Civil Engineering Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, to Doha Qatar for Northrop Grunman, and Patrick Air Force Base, Florida as the director of communications.  While stationed in Qatar, Prof. Engman taught courses with the University of Maryland. Prof. Engman returned to Guam, where he served as a young airman in his early military career and where he started his adamic studies with the University of Maryland, when he was offered the opportunity to work.
