I have some past college credit. Can I transfer my credits to UMUC?
UMUC generally accepts credits transferred from
other regionally accredited colleges and universities if the credits
are applicable to the student’s chosen UMUC degree program.
To find out how to get your credits evaluated, skip ahead to the
New Student Checklist.
I am here for only one or two years, and I've never taken a college
class before. What can I do?
If you enroll full time you can earn an Associate's
Degree in two years, just as you would at a traditional college
in the U.S. There are also several options to help you to finish
your UMUC degree after leaving Asia through UMUC’s worldwide
Distance Education (DE) program, by having earned the minimum
residence credit with UMUC to qualify to earn your UMUC degree
and completing your remaining requirements through other regionally
accredited colleges and universities, and through the Servicemembers
Opportunity Colleges (SOC) program. You can complete a degree
with UMUC no matter where you are, anywhere in the world. See
your Academic Advisor or Field Representative for more information.
Will my UMUC credit transfer to another institution?
UMUC is a regionally accredited institution
and part of the University System of Maryland. Credit earned with
UMUC in Asia or anywhere will transfer just as readily as credit
earned on the home campus in Maryland or, in other words, as readily
as credits earned at any large, respectable state university.
Where can I learn about still other programs available worldwide, largely online, with UMUC?
A complete table of all UMUC programs available either in Asia or online is
available here.
