Participate in Shared Governance at UMUC
The Student Advisory Council consists of twelve (12) student representatives from UMUC locations worldwide and includes both undergraduate and graduate students. Four Student Advisory Council representatives serve on the overall University Advisory Council. Student Advisory Council members act in an advisory capacity to the University president, provost, and other officials on behalf of all students. Representatives may participate in committee meetings from their homes via telecommunications technology.

Thanks for your interest in STAC. The nomination period for the upcoming election is now closed and the nominations are currently being reviewed. All students will receive an e-mail with information about the election process when the voting is opened. We hope you will vote and make your voice heard.
There are two undergraduate representative positions open to students registered through UMUC Asia.
You may nominate yourself for one of these positions if you meet the following requirements:
- Undergraduate students must be degree- or certificate-seeking students with a GPA of at least 2.0 AND must have been registered for at least one course in the past year.
- You must be available to participate in the Council for at least 2 years (you may serve for the remainder of the year in which you graduate).
- You must have access to e-mail and the World Wide Web.

USM Student Council
The University System of Maryland Student Council is one of four councils established during the restructuring of higher education in Maryland in 1988 to provide advice to the Chancellor and the Board of Regents.
