General Scholarship Information
Just apply! You will be considered for all UMUC scholarships.
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) offers a wide variety of opportunities to help you achieve your educational goals.
UMUC Scholarships are available to students based on merit and/or financial need. Award amounts vary by scholarship. Before completing the UMUC Scholarship Application, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov) and the UMUC scholarship application. Be sure to include UMUC's school code on your FAFSA: 011644.
After your FAFSA information is received by UMUC, you are ready to apply! (Please allow 3-5 business days for your FAFSA information to be loaded at UMUC.)
New Scholarship Information
Beginning fall 2012, students who apply for financial aid will be pre-screened for scholarship eligibility. Students who have met UMUC's established scholarship criteria will be notified via their "To Do List" in the MyUMUC Student Portal of their eligibility to apply for a UMUC scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.

If you are notified that you are eligible to apply for a scholarship, we encourage you to complete and submit your application as soon as possible.
Scholarship funding is limited; therefore, we recommend you apply early for maximum consideration. To be considered for renewal, you must reapply each year. However, renewal awards are not guaranteed.
You may receive only one UMUC scholarship or grant award per academic year.
The Financial Aid Office will begin awarding scholarships during the month of July. Please watch this page for additional updates and information.

UMUC scholarships may require a minimum number of credits and grade point average (GPA):
Undergraduates
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Completion of 15 credits
Graduates
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completion of 9 credits
Other UMUC Requirements
- A citizen or permanent resident of the US
- Degree-seeking at UMUC
Additional Scholarship Information
Unless otherwise stated, the minimum enrollment requirement during the award period is 3 credits. UMUC scholarships are generally awarded for the fall and/or spring semesters only. Employees of UMUC and their dependents, as well as persons who receive remission of fees from other institutions, are not eligible to apply for UMUC institutional scholarships or to receive UMUC institutional grants.
If you receive a UMUC scholarship, you must complete 100 percent of your coursework during each enrollment period. If you receive an award for the academic year (fall and spring) but do not complete 100 percent of the coursework during the fall semester, your award will be automatically canceled for the spring semester.
Renewal awards are not guaranteed; you must reapply each year. You may receive one UMUC scholarship or grant award per academic year. UMUC scholarships are generally awarded for the fall and/or spring semesters only.
