Now, the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program is providing $6,000 for education and training in a University of Maryland University College (UMUC) program. UMUC has 150 locations worldwide and online classes to fit your changing life. Find a program you're interested in and take your career with you. Eligibility and More Information To be eligible, an applicant must be the spouse of an active duty or activated Guard or Reserve servicemember. To learn more about MyCAA and UMUC programs that match your career area of interest, and to determine which UMUC branch you should apply to, visit http://www.umuc.edu/milspouse. How to Apply (PDF files) Pt 1: Creating an Account Important Points for UMUC MyCAA Students Below are steps students should follow when using MyCAA to cover their Tuition Cost. Students should follow these steps after they have received their Approval Notification from MyCAA. 1. Enroll in the course/s 2. Go into MyCAA and apply your Financial Aid to the course/s that you have enrolled in for one session only. Be sure to enter the proper Class Start/End Dates for the session in which the course is being taken. NOTE: For Fall and Spring Terms, DO NOT enter Session 1 and Session 2 classes together. DO NOT enter dates that cover the entire term (two sessions). UMUC Asia bills MyCAA by Sessions. By the design of MyCAA’s system, any classes on a single FA authorization must be billed together. Entering courses from more than one session on the same authorization could cause a course to be billed prematurely. 3. Send an e-mail message to ota@asia.umuc.edu indicating which course/s you have enrolled in that will be covered by MyCAA (Note: It is NOT necessary for the student to send a copy of the authorization) 4. Each time a student enrolls in additional classes, steps 1, 2, and 3 must be accomplished 5. If the student decides to drop a class or the class is dropped by the university, the student should immediately go into MyCAA and cancel the authorization for the dropped course. This will immediately reapply the funds to your MyCAA account. Otherwise, adjustments will not be made until UMUC Asia has billed MyCAA for that session and has notified them of any adjustments. NOTE: Editing or Cancelling an authorization must be done before the Class Start Date indicated in MyCAA) |
