UMUC Asia - Staff Biographies

LISA MARRIN Associate Director, Financial Aid
Ms. Marrin joined UMUC Asia in June of 1994 and currently serves as the Associate Director for Financial Aid, providing assistance to all students who apply for aid with UMUC. Ms. Marrin has also served as an Assistant in the UMUC Asia Human Resources Office as well as in the Office of Student Services as Evaluations Supervisor. She began with UMUC as a receptionist. She received her B.A. in management studies with a minor in psychology from UMUC.

MELVIN MEDEIROS Director, Logistics
Mel Medeiros received his B.A. degree in Far East area studies and history from Sophia University in Tokyo, and his M.A. in political science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He joined the Asian Division's Office of Admissions and Registrations in 1979, where he served as Academic Advisor, Academic Advisor Coordinator, and Assistant Director. Mel has also served as Microcomputer Support Coordinator providing maintenance support for administrative and academic computers. He was appointed Director of Human Resources in 1990, and at which time established UMUC Asias first Human Resources Office. In mid 2008, the Associate Vice President for Operations broke off the logistics function of Human Resources and now Mr. Medeiros heads the Office of Logistics.
