RUTH LATTIMORE
Director, Student Affairs
Ms. Lattimore earned her B.A. in mathematics from Slippery Rock University and her M.S. in statistics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She taught at Miami University, the University of South Carolina at Sumter, and Morris College, and has also taught at the elementary level. In addition, Ms. Lattimore has been employed in the field of computing as a programmer and statistician. She joined the Asian Division faculty in 1992 and has extensive experience teaching all the courses in mathematics and statistics offered in the Division from introductory review mathematics through calculus and differential equations. After teaching in Misawa for five years she transferred to Yokota in 1997, serving as Academic Director for mathematics and statistics since then and teaching in the Tokyo area and in the distance education program. She also held the position of Director, Institutional Research. Ms. Lattimore assumed her current position in July 2007.

ELEANA LAZARUS
Assistant Dean
Dr. Lazarus holds a B.A. in psychology with a minor in sociology, and an M.A. in research psychology, both from California State University at Long Beach, and a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Kansas. She has taught at Cal State Long Beach, the University of Kansas, and The College of New Jersey. Her professional activities have included service as a student representative to the Department of Psychology at Cal State Long Beach, a supervisor for undergraduate research at the University of Kansas, and a committee member for revision of the introductory psychology course at The College of New Jersey. Dr. Lazarus has made presentations at professional conferences, is co-author of a research paper published in 2001, and has employment experience as a research consultant. She joined the UMUC faculty in 2001 and has taught in Korea and in the distance education program. Dr. Lazarus also served as UMUC Asia's Academic Coordinator for Psychology and assumed her present position in July 2007.

KATHRYN LEVELS
Academic Advisor - Guam, Marshall Islands, Diego Garcia
Katie Levels holds a B.A. in Criminology/Sociology from the The Ohio State University, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from UMUC/Bowie State. Following graduation, she served a year with AmeriCorps and subsequently worked for her county government for two years. After substitute teaching elementary school in Guam for several months, she pursued a career in higher education, and began employment with UMUC covering both the lab and field rep office. She loves to travel, and will have visited her fifth continent before the end of this year.

SUSANO LOYA
Associate Regional Manager, Japan
Mr. Susano Ted Loya earned his Bachelors in Business and Management from UMUC and has recently earned a M.B.A. through UMUC as well. Throughout his time with UMUC, Mr. Loya has worked in the Japan Area Directors Office, first as an assistant and in his current capacity as Assistant to the Director, Japan. Prior to joining UMUC, Mr. Loya worked at Raytheon, the United States Service Organizations (USO), and in the United States Marine Corps.
