Hyoik Ryu
Dr. Ryu holds a B.S. in microbiology from Seoul National University, and an M.S. in veterinary microbiology and a Ph.D. in veterinary microbiology (immunology), both from Iowa State University. He also earned an M.B.A. in human resource management from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Ryu is a currently a professor in the Department of Biochemistry at Yeungnam University in Daegu. His varied experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Arkansas, service as a senior scientist at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and two years as a professor at the Central America Health Sciences University, Belize City, Belize. He has also managed his own biotech firm, has published a number of scientific papers, and holds several patents. Dr. Ryu has taught in the Daegu and Busan area since joining the UMUC Asia faculty in 2001.
