Richard Paritzky
Location: Distance Education
Dr. Paritzky earned his B.A. in sociology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his M.A., in student personnel work in higher education, from George Washington University, and returned to the University of Maryland, College Park, to earn his Ph.D. in counseling. He has taught at Montgomery Community College, Northern Virginia Community College, George Mason University, and at Virginia Tech University in Falls Church, Virginia. Dr. Paritzky has many years of professional experience in counseling, having served at the institutions where he has taught, at the Family Therapy Institute in Rockville, Maryland, and for many years in an independent practice in Virginia. He has several publications and has made numerous presentations at professional conferences. After joining UMUC Asia in August 2000 he taught in Okinawa, primarily in the graduate counseling program, and more recently in the distance education program.
