David Layfield
Location: Japan
Dr. David Layfield took his BA in political science from Nottingham Trent University, his MA in political philosophy from University of York, and his PhD in political science from University of Nottingham. He has taught political science at the university level since 2003. Dr. Layfield joined UMUC Asia in March, 2009.

Lynda Leitner
Location: Korea
Ms. Lynda Leitner has a BA in History and Journalism from California State University Northridge and an MA in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento, where her research examined the effects that television violence and the portrayal of stereotypical images have upon viewers. Thanks to a Rotary International Fellowship, Ms. Leitner's doctoral studies were completed at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom, where she wrote a biography of John Almon, a powerful printer, journalist, bookseller and political factotum in London at the time of the American Revolution. She has worked as a newspaper reporter, elected official, community activist, campaign coordinator and teaches Speech, Communication Studies and History. Ms. Leitner’s favorite activity (besides reading) is traveling, which she was able to indulge while teaching for UMUC’s European Division in Germany, Turkey, Iceland, Great Britain, South America and Portugal and now Asia.
