JERRY COLLINS
Mr. Collins earned a B.A. in political science and East Asian Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, an M.A. in political science with a major field in American political history from the University of Washington, and an M.A. in communications from the Television, Radio and Film Department of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He has worked as a writer and editor in television, radio and the print media. He wrote and produced a nationally-syndicated, educational documentary series for radio on American folklore and has taught rhetoric at Syracuse University. Mr. Collins joined the UMUC Asia faculty in 1990 and has taught at various locations throughout Korea and Japan, as well as Kwajalein, Australia, and the UMUC Distance Education program. He spent academic year 1994-95 teaching with the UMUC Office of International Programs in Vladivostok, Russia.
