Mr. Schiffman received his B.A. in American Literature from George Washington University and a M.F.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts. During his time with University of Maryland University College, he has traveled to many countries around Asia where he eventually settled into Thailand and became the Department Head of English at an international college. Mr. Schiffman has been with UMUC since 1992 and has taught in Okinawa and Korea. Mr. Schiffman began teaching via the distance education program for UMUC Asia in 2001.
