Spyridon Therianos
An Asian Division veteran, Dr. Therianos joined the UMUC faculty in 1981. After teaching briefly in Guam he relocated to Korea where he has taught since then, mostly at Osan Air Base, and in the UMUC distance education program, serving also for a year as Asian Division Mathematics Consultant. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara, all in mathematics, and has several publications based on his research in mathematics. Dr. Therianos previously taught at U.C. Santa Barbara and in the PACE program aboard U.S. Navy vessels, through which he traveled extensively throughout the Pacific and East Asia, the Indian Ocean and Africa. He also taught at the Degree College in Athens, Greece during the year he was teaching for PACE. He rejoins the Guam faculty in January 2006.
